Sri Lankan and healthy food recipes for you

My story

Cooking with love!

Cooking is my happy place. Whether I’m hungry, celebrating, feeling low, or simply curious, I reach for a pot and spoon. My very first “sellam bath” as a kid—rice with green‑bean‑and‑potato curry cooked in two brand‑new clay pots my mother gave me—sparked a lifelong love affair with the kitchen.

I’m also an unapologetic foodie, a trait I inherited from my mother, whose unforgettable creations range from Seeni Sambol toast and Halmesso hodi to polos curry, spicy French toast, and melt‑in‑your‑mouth aluwa. My sweet tooth once added a few extra school‑day pounds, but university life changed everything. Craving Mom’s food, I returned to cooking—this time focused on nutrition, budget‑friendly meals, and a balanced lifestyle. Taming cravings wasn’t easy, yet it taught me the art of mindful eating—wisdom I’m eager to share with you.

Campus life unlocked another passion: photography and videography. I began with travel shots, animal portraits, and obligatory selfies before turning my lens toward food. Hundreds of pictures now hide in my camera roll!

Immigrating to Canada opened a fresh chapter. Studying food and nutrition here allows me to explore new culinary cultures and a bounty of ingredients. Then the pandemic hit: longer workdays, shorter weeks, and a collective urge to cook, bake, and post it all on Instagram. That’s when my love of food photography truly bloomed, and I found a vibrant, supportive community that fuels my creativity daily.

Today, I’m still that kid with a clay pot—only the kitchen is bigger, the ingredients more diverse, and the audience global. I’m thrilled to embark on this next adventure with you, filled with cooking experiments, shared stories, and plenty of love. Let’s get simmering!

Passion Turned Into A Profession…
